A person stands alone at the edge of a rocky cliff, facing a vast, misty sea under a starry night sky. Text overlay reads: “Feeling Depressed – Keep Moving Forward With Hope. Written by Amit Blogwala.”

This blog is for you if you are feeling depressed.

Let me tell you this first.

You are fine…

I REPEAT…

You are absolutely fine.

It’s just a tiny little phase of your life.

It will pass – SOON.

If you want this phase to pass.

And I believe you do — you want it to go.

Let me try and see how I can help you.

First of all…

You say you are suffering from “SEVERE DEPRESSION”.

Okay.

Let me tell you one thing.

You need to first identify your symptoms.

Depression begins with feelings (the not-so-happy ones).

So,

How are you feeling — RIGHT NOW?

Are you?

  • Unable to sleep?

  • Experiencing sudden breathlessness?

  • Having anxiety attacks?

  • Feeling worthless (STRONGLY)?

  • Constantly anxious?

  • Carrying guilt?

  • Sad for no reason?

  • Hopeless?

  • Feeling empty or lost interest in everything?

  • Unable to concentrate?

  • Isolated?

There can be others as well.

So,

Tell me what symptoms do you have.

Okay — don’t just tell me.

WRITE IT DOWN.

Write it,

Write it because you need clarity.

You need to name what you’re feeling.

It all starts with knowing what you’re dealing with.

.

.

.

Now write it.

.

.

.

Done?

Good. How many symptoms did you write?

1?

2?

3 or 4?

Maybe 5?

Or even more?

Wow.

Now, what if I tell you…

That…

It does not matter how many symptoms you wrote.

.

.

.

Trust me — it doesn’t matter.

.

.

.

Let me share something with you.

Please read carefully.

In this world — if you are truly responsible for one thing, it’s this:

👉 YOU.
👉 YOUR HAPPINESS.

That’s it.

Everything else will figure itself out — if you are doing okay.

So stop now.

  1. Stop worrying about the world.
  2. Stop crying over lost opportunities.
  3. Stop blaming yourself for everything that went wrong.
  4. Stop carrying guilt for things that were never entirely your fault.

Okay, listen.

.

.

.

I want you to say this to yourself.

  • I am loveable.
  • I am capable.
  • I am acceptable.
  • I love myself, and I am OK.

.

.

.

Say it to yourself.

Out loud.

Right now.

.

.

.

Okay, wait.

.

Okay, wait.

Do you have a mirror nearby?

Yes?

Then go stand in front of it.

Say it. Out loud.

And while saying it, maybe you…

  • Cry (if yes, cry at your loudest)

  • Laugh (if yes, laugh from your soul)

  • Shout (if yes, shout it with everything in you)

Let it all come out.

Don’t hold it in.

Don’t fake a smile.

Don’t hide what you’re feeling.

Accept your emotions.

If you’re feeling sad — it’s okay.

Who told you this world is a fairyland where you’re meant to be happy all the time?

Where happiness is guaranteed?

It’s not.

But you know what?

YOU are responsible for your happiness.

Not someone else.
Not the world.
You.

So ask yourself — what are you anxious about?

  • Is it your actions?

  • Your failure?

  • Your guilt?

  • Or something else?

What is it?

What’s making you feel this way?

Now take a glass of water.

Sip it — slowly.

And think:

  • What?

  • Why?

  • Who?

Who or what is triggering your anxiety?

Are you feeling worthless?

Is that the reason?

Let me guess…

  • You failed an exam.

  • Didn’t crack that interview.

  • Someone you loved left you.

  • You were betrayed by family, friends, or your partner.

  • You were abused.

  • You lost all your money.

  • You couldn’t pay EMIs and lost something valuable.

  • You lost your job.

I mean — what happened?

Okay, leave that for a second…

Tell me one thing.

Are you still breathing?

Yes?

Then ask yourself:

  • Can you rebuild what you lost?

  • Can you create something better?

Possibly yes.

So do it. Now.

Let me tell you something loud and clear.

.

.

.

You have every right to be happy.

And to be happy, all you truly need is YOU.

Find that HOPE.

Hope is what keeps us going.

A hope that…

  • You’ll feel better with each passing day.

  • You’ll recover what you’ve lost.

  • You’ll achieve bigger, better dreams.

  • You’ll outgrow your competition.

  • You’ll bring smiles to others.

  • You’ll become the version of yourself you want to be.

Look…

I could keep writing and make you cry.

Make you feel empty.

Make you face your pain.

But you already know that.

You don’t need just words — you need more.

Let me share something from my own experience.

Yes, your past shapes your present.
But only if you allow it to.

It takes time to let go of pain.

But it’s possible.

And it’s up to you.

Let me explain it like this:

If you stop showering for days, months — even years…

And then one day, you try to shower again.

Will it be easy?

No.

You’ll resist. You’ll struggle.

But if you stay committed — if you make it a daily habit —
You’ll start to feel clean again.

Just like your body needs cleaning…
Your mind does too.

Do it regularly.

Clean your mind.

And you’ll start feeling better.

That’s all from me.

I truly hope this helped you — even a little.

And if it did, that’s a step forward.

Just keep walking.

You’re not alone.
